Which Comes First?? The CHICKEN of The EGG??

ever wondered which comes first? the chicken or the egg? or, ever thought this is one of the questions with no proven definite answers? Probably it can never be proven but to think logically, here are various answers i've found which make a lot of sense and kinda clears up the confusion..

* Using literature, the chicken comes first.

* Using grammar, "the chicken" comes first in the sentence (They come before the words, "the egg.")

* In a dictionary, the word "chicken" comes before "egg."

* The answer is the chicken: God created all the animals and not all the eggs. It's easy because for those that believe in Him God made animals not eggs. The chicken because God wouldn't just put a egg on the earth and even if he did nothing would warm the egg for it to hatch.

* The chicken... it had to be. Creatures in the sea evolved and they didn't evolve into eggs now, did they?

* The chicken. It has to be around to lay the egg.

* In the seven days that God created the earth, it makes no mention of animals' eggs. Thus, the chicken came first.

* The chicken came first because, if the chicken didn't come first, there would be no egg or care for it. So, God had to make the chicken first.

* If you are an evolutionist, you probably think that the chicken evolved from a dinosaur or something. But the chicken came first; if you think about it, how was the chicken alive before the egg...

The Package...

A married lady was expecting a birthday gift from her husband. For many months she had admired a beautiful diamond ring in a showroom, and knowing her husband could afford it, she told him that was all she wanted.

As her birthday approached, this lady awaited signs that her husband had purchased the diamond ring. Finally, on the morning of her birthday, her husband called her into his study room. Her husband told her how proud he was to have such a good wife, and told her how much he loved her. He handed her a beautiful wrapped gift box.

Curious, the wife opened the box and found a lovely,leather- bound Bible, with the wife's name embossed in gold. & Angrily, she raised her voice to her husband and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible? and stormed out of the house, leaving her husband.

Many years passed and the married lady was very successful in business.!She managed to settle for a more beautiful house and a wonderful family, but realized her ex-husband was very old, and thought perhaps she should go to visit him.She had not seen him for many years.

But before she could make arrangements, she received a telegram telling her that her ex-husband had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to her. She needed to come back immediately and take care of things.

When she arrived at her ex-husband's house, sudden sadness and regret filled her heart. She began to search through her ex-husband's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as she had left it years ago With tears, she opened the Bible and began to turn the pages.

Her ex-husband had carefully underlined a verse, Matthew 7:11, "And if you, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?" As she read those words, a tiny package dropped from the back of the Bible.

It had a diamond ring with her name engraved on it, the same diamond ring which she saw at the showroom. On the tag was the date of her birth, and the words...'LUV U ALWAYS'...

How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expected? I trust you enjoyed this.

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you do not have; but remember that what you now have, was once among the things you only hoped for.

IF YOUR GIFT IS NOT PACKAGED THE WAY YOU WANT IT, IT'S BECAUSE IT IS BETTER PACKAGED THE WAY IT IS!

ALWAYS APPRECIATE LITTLE THINGS; THEY USUALLY LEAD YOU TO BIGGER THINGS

What do i do if i fail a subject in school ??

since it's the "results fever" period, (almost over)..here's something to encourage everyone who faced disappointment or whose results were not up to expectations.. it doesn't only apply to schooling students but college students as well.. i hope it helps =)
_____________________________________________________________

If you are having trouble, you should pray. And if you are feeling good, you should sing praises (James 5:13)

Did you know that grades in school are not very good indicators of how successful a person will be in life? Success comes to people who never quit trying. Failure may shake them up, but it doesn't stop them. You've got to jump right back in and try again when you fail. Don't let a falling grade beat you up. Failing a class doesn't make you a failure in life.

It's important to constantly pursue excellence in every area of your life. But the fact is, you will fall short somewhere along the way. Learn from your mistakes and take all your anxieties to the Lord. One of the cruel things about failure is that it can make you afraid. Some people get so afraid of failing again. So pray, pray, pray and ask the Lord for strength to face the challenge again. Ask him to provide a clear path for you to walk through- removing the obstacles that tripped you up before. Each time you think about your failure, talk to God about it. Give him the burden of it, thank him for the great success you are to him, and listen as he whispers to you, "Never, never give up!"

my future's in Your hands...

My Jesus, I've found in You
You're my Saviour
You've chose me before the world
And You called my name

I will walk with You through the valley
I will soar above every mountain
I will trust Your word deep within my heart
I will live for You

I know my future's in Your hands
All of my hopes and dreams and plans
You gave me strength to live
And faith to succeed
I believe in You
Because You believe in me

Time : 1.25pm
Venue : Art Studio
________________________________________________________________

Meeting commenced with 3 songs led by Yoke Ching - We Want To See Jesus Lifted High, Draw Me Close To You and Still.

Joel then led us in the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) as discussed last week. The questions Joel discussed were :

1. Why do bad things happen to good people?

- There are no good people as Romans 3:12 says "All have turned aside. Together they have become useless. There is none who does good. There is not even one."

-The reason there is none who is good is because God alone is truly good as in Luke 18:18 - "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone."

- Sin is in the world and it affects everyone to different degrees.

- The best thing to do is trust that God allows things to happen to us for a reason for His will is higher than ours.

2. Does the Bible tell us if there is life on other planets?

- The bible does not say if there is life on other planets. It simply says that God created the heavens and the eart and put man on it. But this silence subject does not require that earth is the only place with life on it. But then again, this doesn't mean there is life out there either.

- If there were other beings on other planets that have sinned, then they would need a redeemer. God would have to die for them as well.

3. What about the appearances of UFO's?

- UFO phenomena is occultic in origin and demonically based. There is no life on other planets and what has been manifested may be nothing more than a great deception that is slowly enveloping mankind.

Click on the numbered questions above to read more in detail..

Meeting adjourned at 2.20pm.

The Power of Prayer

This is my first time posting on this blog so lets hope that i do this right. Got it from an email, enjoy. =)

This beautiful story was written by a doctor who worked in Central Africa

One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward; but in spite of all we could do, she died, leaving us with a tiny, premature baby and a crying two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty keeping the baby alive; as we had no incubator (we had no electricity to run an incubator). We also had no special feeding facilities..
Although we lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with treacherous drafts. One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the cotton wool that the baby would be wrapped in. Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot water bottle. She came back shortly in distress to tell me that in filling the bottle, it had burst (rubber perishes easily in tropical climates)..
'And it is our last hot water bottle!' she exclaimed. As in the West, it is no good crying over spilled milk, so in Central Africa it might be considered no good crying over burst water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and there are no drugstores down forest pathways.

'All right,' I said, 'put the baby as near the fire as you safely can, and sleep between the baby and the door to keep it free from drafts. Your job is to keep the baby warm.'

The following noon, as I did most days, I went to have
> prayers with any of the orphanage children who chose to gather with me. I gave the youngsters various suggestions of things to pray about and told them about the tiny baby. I explained our problem about keeping the baby warm enough,
mentioning the hot water bottle, and that the baby could so easily die if it got chills. I also told them of the two-year-old sister, crying because her mother had died.
During prayer time, one ten-year-old girl, Ruth, prayed with the usual blunt conciseness of our African children.. 'Please, God' she prayed, 'Send us a hot water bottle today. It'll be no good tomorrow, God, as the baby will be dead, so please send it this afternoon.'
While I gasped inwardly at the audacity of the prayer, she added, 'And while You are about it, would You please send a dolly for the little girl so she'll know You really love her?'
As often with children's prayers, I was put on the
spot. Could I honestly say 'Amen'? I just did not
believe that God could do this. Oh, yes, I know that He can do everything; the Bible says so. But there are limits, aren't there? The only way God could answer this particular prayer would be by sending me a parcel from the homeland. I had been in Africa for almost four years at that time, and I had never, ever, received a parcel from home.
Anyway, if anyone did send me a parcel, who would put in a hot water bottle? I lived on the equator!
Halfway through the afternoon, while I was teaching in the nurses' training school, a message was sent that there was a car at my front door... By the time I reached home, the car had gone, but there on the porch was a large 22-pound parcel. I felt tears pricking my eyes. I could not open the parcel alone, so I sent for the orphanage children.
Together we pulled off the string, carefully undoing each knot. We folded the paper, taking care not to tear it unduly... Excitement was mounting. Some thirty or forty pairs of eyes were focused on the large cardboard box.
From the top, I lifted out brightly-colored, knitted
jerseys. Eyes sparkled as I gave them out. Then there were the knitted bandages for the leprosy patients, and the children looked a little bored. Then came a box of mixed raisins and sultanas - that would make a batch of buns for the weekend.
Then, as I put my hand in again, I felt the..... could it really be? I grasped it and pulled it out. Yes, a brand new, rubber hot water bottle. I cried. I had not asked God to send it; I had not truly believed that He could.
Ruth was in the front row of the children. She rushed forward, crying out, 'If God has sent the bottle, He must have sent the dolly, too!
'Rummaging down to the bottom of the box, she pulled out the small, beautifully- dressed dolly. Her eyes shone! She had never doubted! Looking up at me, she asked, 'Can I go over with you and give this dolly to that little girl, so she'll know that Jesus really loves her?'
'Of course,' I replied!
That parcel had been on the way for five whole months, packed up by my former Sunday school class, whose leader had heard and obeyed God's prompting to send a hot water bottle, even to the equator. And one of the girls had put in a dolly for an African child - five months before, in answer to the believing prayer of a ten-year-old to bring it 'that afternoon'.

Isaiah 65:24 Before they call, I will answer.

At the end of the email a simple prayer was attached n this was it that caught my attention.

" Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless my friends reading this. I ask You to minister to their spirit. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy. Where there is self doubting, release a renewed confidence to work through them.. Where there is tiredness or exhaustion, I ask You to give them understanding, guidance, and strength. Where there is fear, reveal Your love and release to them Your courage. Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and raise up leaders and friends to support and encourage them. Give each of them discernment to recognize the evil forces around them and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it. I ask You all these in Jesus' name. Amen."

As i prayed through the words i reflected back at de blogs that i hopped through n saw so much pain in their lives... I cant help but think, if only they had God in their lives... I hope everyone who reads this will pray for each of their friend cause everyone has hurts n only ONE BEING can satisfy to the absolute depth of the hurting human heart. That is none other than Jesus Christ.

OUR THEME

I AM A CHRISTIAN

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on..

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say.... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say.... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!

SONG OF THE YEAR :

We Want To See Jesus Lifted High

(Hillsong Kids' version)
